Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Lytle Creek to Mount Baldy

Last week Cesar, Rafa and I decided on a big epic ride from Rancho Cucamonga to Mount Baldy by way of Lytle Creek.  Big Epic is how best to describe the ride.  The route is about 50 miles and 6.7K feet of climbing.

From Rafa's house to the end of Lytle Creek is 19 miles and after you start on a poorly maintained fire road.  The fire road is full of ruts and baby head sized rocks.  You really have to pay attention and pick your lines carefully.  The fire road to the top of Baldy is about 8 miles.  Make sure you bring plenty of water and food.
