I wasn’t going to do Bud’s last night. Instead I chose to ride in my garage on the rollers. However, Frank I. called and encouraged me to come out. He said a bunch of friends were going to ride Bud’s for a first time.
It was nice seeing Camacho, Ricardo, Miguel and his son, Geraldo, Lucho. Overall the ride wasn’t bad and Frank, Monte and I stayed together for the three laps.
2WT was mostly chill and uneventful except for one flat during the ride. The one flat turned into two stops because Ray's tire didn't seat right. I ended up turning off early at Mills and Baseline. I was tired and wanted to go home.
I wasn’t sure where and with who I was going to ride with this morning. I assumed I was going solo today but Demi sent a group text the night before and I decided to join him for a ride out to Rialto. Overall it was a chill ride, talking pace. Talking pace rides are important. It gives you time to talk to your friends and learn a little something about them. Talking pace also gives your legs a break.
I started Bud’s feeling fine then after the first laps I got caught in a coughing frenzy. I am not sure what happened but I could not stop and the group quickly pulled away from me. I pulled over to drink some water and continued hacking away. I called the ride short and headed home trying to clear what ever got caught in my throat. This morning I still feel like something is still in my throat. I must have ate some bug and it got stuck in my air passage.
Richard O kept begging me to join this group again. He said he’d buy me a coffee in Newport but sadly he never did. Dude what’s up with that? Either way the ride was fast and legit. Oscar, Juan, Mario and I finished together and we traded off pulls for most of the ride. I managed an average speed of 22.8+ mph for the out and back ride.
