Whether it was a good idea or not, we decided on a "MILD" Montrose ride. Driving to Encanto I had my doubts about the air quality. It was dark and the roof of my car was sprinkled with ash from the fire off the 14 fwy. Needless to say, I made the drive to Encanto and met up with a few Bicycle Friends.
From there we rode into Pasadena to meet up with the 8 o'clock group.
The pace wasn't bad and there were the usual suspects. Mr. 69 year old made it another year and was announcing his new age of 70. There were the ALL Business folks, who don't talk and won't let you in, and then there was Mr. Self Appointed Ride Leader who would occasionally critique your riding style. "Do this, don't do that!" "Take up the full lane!" "Tempo, tempo!"
Then there was everyone else, the ones who just want ride and have a good time. Jose G made it out with John Khao. They both rode in from Claremont (Beasts I tell you!). Nathaniel Khoe and Tommy Oh met us along the way to Pasadena. Mike Khoe and Tai On met me at Encanto.
