Fly6 Cycling Accessory
This light camera is a great idea.
"World first cycling camera & tail-light accessory to record what happens behind you so you can enjoy the ride ahead.
Our project is a unique invention that addresses a number of issues cyclists encounter when sharing the road. We have a big mission - to make drivers aware they might be recorded, so they behave appropriately. We all know when we see a camera at a set of traffic lights we apply more caution to make sure we don't do something wrong. We know there will be consequences. Fly6 is that camera, but it's on the back of your bike!"

Carnivale De Velo
Carnivale De Velo from Deus Customs on Vimeo.
The downhill blast. The Airtime. The sideway skids.
Off the boardwalk and into the Santa Monica Mountains we took our old beach cruisers and up the fire-roads of Kenter Trail where gravity does the pushing and "The Whoops" do the launching. After gathering some good ol'fashioned road rash, we headed back to the Emporium of Postmodern Activities for pizza and beer at the Carnivale De Velo bicycle festival. Two wheels without the engine has never been more exhilarating.

"Carrboro has the most bicyclists on the road in the state, but contradictory town laws might leave these riders vulnerable.
Carrboro’s bicycle laws were up for discussion Tuesday at the Board of Alderman meeting.
Charlie Hileman, a member of the Carrboro Bicycle Coalition, made a presentation that highlighted some inconsistencies between the town’s and the state’s laws."

It would be nice to be car free, but living in suburbia with autocentric routes and city planning make it difficult. All excuses I know...
"When Ben Roberts was a teenager, the last thing he wanted to do was ride a bike.
“I wasn’t into biking,” he says. “I looked at biking as a juvenile thing. Once I was 16 and able to legally drive, I left biking and worked on cars.”
As recently as 2009, he had a hot rod, a Toyota 4Runner and a Honda Accord. “I had too many cars,” he admits.
That year, while managing a Medford cell phone repair store with his brother, the recession hit the business and his pocketbook."

Muc-Off in Mallorca - Training with Team Sky
Muc-Off in Mallorca - Training with Team Sky from Muc-Off Ltd on Vimeo.
We had the chance to go behind the scenes with Team Sky at their Mallorca training camp earlier this month, and we thought we'd share a bit of the experience with this edit! Despite a bit of rain, it was a brilliant week on the island! We got to chat with the riders and mechanics, and learn a little bit about how things work on the Pro Tour.

"Half The Road" trailer
"Half The Road" trailer from kevin tokstad on Vimeo.
Modern society believes that women hold up half the sky when it comes to equality and progression. So in the sport of professional cycling, why aren’t women receiving half the road?
HALF THE ROAD is a documentary film that explores the world of women’s professional cycling, focusing on both the love of sport and the pressing issues of inequality that modern-day female riders face in a male dominated sport. With footage from some of the world’s best UCI races to interviews with Olympians, World Champions, rookies, coaches, managers, officials, doctors and family members, HALF THE ROAD offers a unique insight to the drive, dedication, and passion it takes for a female cyclist to thrive. Both on and off the bike, the voices and advocates of women’s pro cycling take the audience on a journey of enlightenment, depth, strength, love, humor and best of all, change & growth.
In addition to the international race footage and athlete interviews, the film also follows director/athlete Kathryn Bertine’s quest to make the 2012 Olympics during her first year racing professionally for Team Colavita. Bertine, a three-time national champion of St. Kitts and Nevis, explores the issues faced when smaller nations try to make strides in a sport that has no history of tradition or support within their culture. The title HALF THE ROAD comes from a segment of the film where the president of a small cycling federation quotes the old adage, "Women hold up half the sky" in reference to equality. Our documentary explores the idea that, If women hold up half the sky, then the women's peloton deserves 'half the road' of opportunity, growth, support & equality within professional cycling.
