Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. What It Is
A bike train is an organized group made up of children and adults who ride their bikes to and from school along an established route.

Bike-Train Benefits
According to the advocacy group Safe Routes to School (SRTS), kids who bike or walk to school are more likely to maintain a healthy weight and blood pressure.­ Other benefits include improved mental health, better ­academic performance, and less car congestion near schools, which is not only safer, it’s also better for the environment. Still, some parents are reluctant to let their child ride to school on their own, says April Economides, a sustainability consultant who speaks around the country about creating bike-friendly­ communities. “A bike train is a good solution since chaperones are involved and it provides safety in numbers,” she says.
