City transportation officials last week served up a lesson to restaurant owners and food delivery bicyclists on how to comply with a new city law designed to make city streets – and sidewalks safe for pedestrians.

The City Council passed a menu of regulations last November, designed to crack down on rogue cyclists who are notorious for running stop signs and red lights, mowing down pedestrians and peddling the wrong way along busy streets.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed into law the package of bills that requires commercial cyclists and their employers to follow the new safety regulations or face a series of stiff fines and penalties. Continue Reading ...
