Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

MTB Brake Pads

Last Wednesday I rode to Potato.  On the way down, and while on the brakes, I heard a horrible grinding sound.  I first thought it could be little bits of rock stuck in the grooves of my brake pads.  I didn't give it to much thought and headed home.

A few days later I was able to inspect my brakes and it looks like they need replacing.  So much for little bits of rocks in the groove, there are NO grooves left!  I wore through the rubber.  That silver/grey you see is metal, DOH!
