Ride a bike, share your experience and love. When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Diamond Bar to the Beach, FIXED

Michael and I killed it on fixed gear bikes today.  We headed out at 6:30 am from Diamond Bar and made it to Newport in record time.

The ride to Newport was fast and @ 46 x 15, we were able to keep our average speed above 20 mph.  They were doing some work on Kraemer so we did take a few detours.  Once on SART, it was smooth sailing.  We kept the pace exciting and made it to Newport in no time.

Heading back we played leap frog with other cyclist to conserve energy for the long trip back.  Basically we let them pull for us until we had a few minutes to recover before picking up the pace and leap frogging to the next person.

Once off SART it was just us.  My legs were a bit warm but we managed to keep an average speed between 19 and 20 mph.

Overall it was a great ride, felt good and energized after leaving Michael's house.
